All too often we tend to complain about what we have, or what we have received from God. We complain about our jobs, our partners, our families, our looks...
The problem is not about what you have received, but rather what you do with you have received. In my years of being a born again Christian, I have learnt that God will always give something. It's our job to be good stewards of His blessings.
Do you know that God gave 'something' to all humans unrighteous or righteous?
God has love for every body, the wicked and the holy, and He has dispensed blessings upon every human. What differentiates people, is what they do with the blessings of God.
Jesus said : ' God causes the sun to rise on the just and the unjust, He sends the rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.' (Matthew 5:45)
When the sun rises one may complain about how hot and tough it is, while the other might celebrate and see it as an opportunity to shine and have a productive day. When the rain falls, one might decide to cancel all his plans while another may celebrate it as a blessing for his farming plantations.
The story of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30, tells us that the tale of three servants who were given respectively 5 talents, 2 talents and one talent by their master who expected them to multiply what was given to them.
The first servant who had 5 talents, invested it and gained 5 more. The second servant invested his talents and gained 2 more. But the third servant complained about what he had received and decided to bury the talent he had, with the intention to return it to his master. He did nothing with it and eventually got punished by his master.
How many of us are similar to the third servant? We receive something, we complain about it and because we only focus on the 'ugliness' of the gift, we fail to use it productively.
The job you have, the city you live in, the connections you have, money you get...are NOT the problem.
It's what you do with what is given to you that constitutes the problem.
Use the 'sun' and the 'rain' productively at your own interest.
