The Bible says in the Book of Proverbs 18:21 that the tongue holds the power of life and death.
What you say about your life, your future, is more likely to happen.
A prophet has the ability to forecast and foresee the future. People underestimate the power of their words. What you constantly confess, is what's going to happen in your life. Have you noticed that you only need to confess Jesus as your Savior and Lord to get salvation ? Your mouth only needed to make a confession.
That's how powerful you words are.
I like what Joel Osteen said one day: 'If you have nothing positive to say, then just keep quiet.'
I interact with a lot of people on Facebook,Linkedin and Gmail. Many of them need inspiration because they are struggling in their lives at various levels.
I have good news for you:'You can create a new reality with your words.'
Stop being negative all the time. Stop saying things like:
'There are no more jobs.
All the good men are already taken.
My life will never get back to normal.
I am a real failure, I will never succeed,
Things will never change...'
The more you say negative things, the more you will live them. Do you take the time to analyse your words on a daily basis? Let me assure you of one thing:
'The conditions of your current life whether positive or negative can be influenced by what you say on a daily basis.'
If you keep saying that 'all the good men are taken', then you will never find a good man in your life. Instead, change your speaking and say: 'There is a good man for me, and I will find him soon.'
That 's how you should speak. Do not determine your confession based on your present circumstances but keep saying the thing that you want to see happen in your life.
6 Biblical steps to create a better life with your words
This is how it works:
1. Look at your life.
2.Find the thing that you need to see happening in your life.
3.Confess that it will come in your life, on a regular basis, even when the reality in front of you seems unfavorable.
4.The more you confess, the faster it will come. (If you confess only once a month, be assured that the results will be very slow, but if you confess at least 30 times a day, then results will show up faster.) The speed of change in your life will be related to the number of your confessions.
5. Take action: after confessing, you need to invest some energy behind your confession. A confession without energy behind it, is just a wish. But a positive confession mixed with some supportive action turns into supernatural results. It does not matter the number of times you try with your actions, just keep confessing. Results will show.
6. Use the Scriptures as a powerful tool for confession and mix it with your current circumstance. As an example, if you don't have food at home, you may use Psalms 23:1 that says :' The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not lack'.
Now contextualize it with your current circumstance and say:
'The Lord is my Shepherd, therefore I shall NOT lack food at home.'
Keep repeating it, over and over and take action. Something will happen.
Let's take another example; I have recently interacted with a lot youngsters who failed entry at university and they have been asking me for advice. The Bible says in Matthew 16:19:' I give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, whatever you close on Earth, shall be closed in Heaven, and whatever you open on Earth, shall be opened in Heaven, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against you.'
Now let's contextualize it in your own circumstance as a prospective student; and say something like:
'Jesus gave me the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, therefore I open the doors of universities for my registration and no gates of those universities shall prevail against my registration.'
Then take action.
Did you see that? You can contextualize the promises of God in your own life.
The trick here, is to confess several times. And remember one very important thing:
'People think that you have to confess only in certain places.That's not true.You can confess anywhere, anytime. The more you confess, the more it will happen.'
