How to be your own Prophet (part 2): 'Speak with Authority'

In the book of Joshua 1:8, The Lord says:

'This book of the law shall not depart away from your mouth, but you shall meditate day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your prosperous and you shall have good success.'

It was a command given to Joshua, who was Moses successor. The same command was given to us as well. The Lord commands us to 'meditate' His word day and night. Just like I wrote in the first part of this teaching series, you have to confess the word of God repetitively, if you want to see manifestations in your life.

In the verse above, the word 'meditate' is translated from the Hebrew word 'hagah'.

The term 'hagah' means 'producing a speaking sound through the mouth'. And yet many people believe that meditating is just about reading the Word of God quietly and think about it. The original Hebrew definition for meditating was 'the emission of a speaking sound'through the mouth'.

When translated in English, the word 'hagah' means:

-To murmur in pleasure or in anger.
-To roar
-To speak

Confessing God's words with Power

Therefore, if we follow the original meaning of 'meditation', we should speak it. Speaking the Word of God in confession, works very well.

But there is 'speaking strategy' that brings fast results : ' Speaking with authority or roaring'.
The verb roar is associated with 'authoritative speech'. It also means: 'investing high energy in your voice as if you were a lion roaring in the jungle.'

Instead of confessing with a lower tone, you have to raise your voice higher.Confess in a powerful tone.

I' ll explain to you why:

'When you raise your voice, you are showing a firm conviction of what you believe. That's what Faith is. On the opposite hand, when you speak with lower, shy and less confident voice, you are displaying a 'seemingly' lack of conviction.'

Let's take some few examples:

' Suppose you have a dog at home. The dog acts naughty and does not follow the house rules. You suddenly decide to call him in order to discipline it. But while calling the dog,you use a soft and unconvincing voice. Is the dog really gonna come to you? With the experience I have with dogs, I am pretty sure that it won't come to you. But if you raise your voice with authority and endorsed energy, the dog will come to you.'

'Suppose that you are in crowded place and every body is making noise. Your wish is to say something that will command everybody's attention. So you decide to speak with a lower tone in the midst of that noise. Are people going to listen to you? No. But if you decide to raise your voice out loud, chances are that they will all keep quiet and they will give you their attention.'

Now I have a question for you:

'You might be looking for something you desperately need. Therefore you should be calling out for that thing to come to you (whether it's a job, a marriage,love...) by confessing the word of God. Then why do you call for those things with a soft and shy voice?'

You can ROAR when trying to call to existence things that don't exist in your life. Just ROAR because of those three reasons:

-You are a lion, a member of Jesus family who is the Lion of Judah, therefore ROAR like a lion when you confess the Word of God.

-Faith is the conviction of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1), when you confess (speak) with authority , you are showing confidence and conviction, therefore you are emulating true Faith.

-When you raise your voice, you are catching the attention of the things you are looking for. Those things will hear you and come to you.

You are a lion, not a cat.

Therefore ROAR.
