Are you awake in every choices and decisions that you make?
This question sounds silly but after a while it will bear sense.
What happen when you know the right thing but don't do it? If you have a conscience and if you are open to the Holy Ghost sensitivity, you would definitely have some abnormal sensations such as sudden heart beats.
Those unusual heart beats are a reminder of what we really should do but don't do. Maybe it's a truth that we are hiding, a secret that could save millions , a fact we choose to ignore, the right action...
If you still have a conscience, if you have one heart open to the Holy Ghost voice, every time your life is not in line with what is right (or what ought to be), you should sense a signal in your life.
Regardless of how the signal sound ( anxiety, higher heart pulse...) we should be able to hear the Voice that says: 'This is not right, it ought to be different, and you know it'.
How would it feel to someone who is aware of his/her bad cholesterol level, to eat food that would worsen his/her condition?
That someone knows he/she is at risk, but keeps on doing the very same thing that would destroy him/her. Has that person closed his/hers ears to the voice that says:'You know what is right, just do the right thing.' ?
There are so many damaging decisions we make while being aware of their consequences. But we do them anyway....
What about destiny or purpose in Christ?
Do you know the purpose that God has made you for? Are you aware of it?
If you have answered 'yes' then I am happy for you. But there is a problem about being 'aware' or 'knowledgeable' : ' You know what ought to be in your life.' Choosing an alternative would definitely traumatize you.
If you are aware of your purpose and choose something else, you will always be aware of this truth resonating in your mind :' There is better, there is better...' (over and over again)
That's why some people hate what they doing in their present situations. Simply because they know the truth...
There is a big difference between knowing and applying. The first one makes you aware, the second one makes things touchable.
So what would be the remedy to live in line with what is right for your life?
Here is the response: 'Be awake in every decision that you make and ensure that your actions fall within the confinement of the truth. You know what the truth is in your life.'
Suppose that someone knows why he/she was born and makes decisions leading him/her away from the his/her true purpose, then that person would be similar to an experienced professional pilot willingly flying a plane against a mountain. The pilot has enough experience, information and knowledge to make the right decision but chooses otherwise.
So it is with life. When you are aware of the truth of your purpose , the decisions you make should work towards building your destiny and not lead you away from it.
The drug addict running towards death does not seem to be awake.
The overweight individual who constantly fails to resist dangerous food cravings does not seem to be awake.
The one who knows the Truth about his/ her life purpose but chooses to live a different life away from the Truth is definitely not awake.
This leads me to the question I asked at the beginning of this post:
'Are you awake in every choices and decisions that you make?'
I will close with a little anecdote:
'One morning, an old man in his eighties woke up with a high heart beat pulse. As far as he knew, he was healthy and strong for his age. But when he got up from bed, his heart beats got him worried even more. Something was wrong. It was different from a high blood pressure problem. After a while he called his grand son with whom he was living and said to him:
" Son, if you know the Truth, if you know what ought to be in your life and don't do it, one day your conscience will remind you of what you should have done. If you know what ought to be, just do the right thing, you will live with peace once you reach my age." '
Now, I am not trying to be judgmental here, but I am pretty convinced that the old man did not do the right thing in his life. I don't think anyone would want to end with no peace for failing to apply the truth.
Be awake by living the Truth God has for your life.
