4 timeless Biblical tips to achieve excellence

Start a life of excellence.

The year is currently moving to a close and already so many of us are thinking of the upcoming year as if the current one has nothing more to offer. A word of advice to all of you out there: 'Simply because we are left with 2 weeks to end the year, does not mean that it's all over...I mean, within the next two weeks, you could still crack that huge business deal, start exercising, propose your girlfriend or keep doing what you love to do...

In much simpler terms, I just want to say that a lot can still happen in the next 14 days, and expecting the next year to come alive should not be used as an excuse to freeze all life movements; because ultimately when 1 of January rings in our world ( and trust me when I say this): you will not turn into some sort of new creatures from another planet...enough said !

Let me ask you a question: 'Do you want some speed in your Life? Do you want to achieve your goals in a faster manner? Is your life running at real slow motion?

If you really want to change that, then you have to adopt the most effective strategy which is:

                                                             ' EXCELLENCE'

What is excellence?

I am pretty sure that many of you know the meaning of it...A 'dummy' definition would simply explains excellence as a much  improved state of 'good'. If you want to move fast as from now, you will need to adopt excellence in your daily Life.

The difference between very successful people and those who achieve nothing is in the use of excellence.
Great sportsmen, politicians, businessmen, preachers, long time married couples, best employees...all understood that. Believe me when I say that excellence has fast tracked their paths.

And please, do not be confused by the words: 'famous and successful'. They are two different things. You could be successful but not famous, your could be famous and unsuccessful in the same time. Or you could be both.Excellence does not necessarily guarantee fame or popularity, but success, yes!
Let's take a look at some whiz z kids of the world:
Barack Obama, who only had 2 years in office as a senator, ended up as 44th president of the USA (He is a sign of true fast pace). You don't need to be a democrat to admit his speech excellence, Mitt Romney was                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   no match against him.

Lionel Messi, only 25 years old, has broken almost all the golden records in soccer and is about to be crowned the best soccer player in the world, one more time. His value has recently been estimated to a whooping 203 millions pound! That's what I call fast pace!

Have you ever wondered why Donald Trump fires incompetent people  from his show and office? Because they settle for average results and He (Trump) does not stand for such things. He knows that excellence bears fruit of achievement and that it maintains empires through history.

Excellent people get promoted fast, last in their relationships, shine in what they do, even in the most little things.

Young Mother Theresa
What about mother Theresa who only did small things, but with excellence and ended up winning a Nobel prize. She was not rich, she did the little things every ordinary person should be able to do. She helped the poor, and from her life we can learn that excellent people have the ability to carry out decisions that will save lives...
She has taught us  that even excellence in the little things can help others. Peace be unto her Soul.We will never forget you ,Mother Theresa. Amen.

The Bible  says ' work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord and not men.' (Col 3:23)

And again, the Bible adds :' Do you see a man skilled in his work? He shall serve before Kings, He shall not serve before obscure men' (Prov.22:29)

' And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.'
( Philippians 1:9-10)

'Be perfect , therefore, as your Heavenly Father is Perfect.' (Matt. 5:48)

Now, here are some biblical principles to achieve Excellence:

1. Be consciously aware of God 's existence and presence!:

It is not just enough to believe in some sort of  Higher Power who lives somewhere...You need to acknowledge his presence in You Life, and that He is watching  every single thing that you do. Knowing that God is Perfect and that He is your Father should push you to become like Him. Christians ,Sons and Daughters of God are not supposed to be average!

2. FEAR GOD!:

When the Day of Christ comes, you will be compelled to give accounts of what you did of your Life; remember that every day  while you are engaging in your day to day activities. Do your work as if you are doing it for God.  Even when your boss, your spouse, your colleagues...are not watching you, God is. In other words, you are doing things very well because God is watching.

3. FALL IN LOVE WITH WHAT YOU  CHOOSE TO DO!:

This principle is critical for you to excel. Philippians 1:9-10, starts by mentioning 'love in increase'. Love will give you willingness to do things with excellence. Relationships, careers, families, ministries will never survive without love.  Paul prayed that Love increases amongst Philippians so that they may approve what is excellent. Without love we are nothing, regardless of how much money and talents we have. Mother Theresa had love for the people, Lionel Messi loves scoring goals, Donald Trump loves doing business...Love will pro pulse your Life within excellence.
Paul, by saying :' ...so that you may approve of what is excellent...' , implied the notion of choice.  You need to approve (decide to choose) what is excellent after Love has abounded in your Life.

Even, when you decide to do the will of God, you are doing it because you love God and His will. So my advice to you is :
- First, find who ( for relationships) you love to be with and/ or what you Love to do. (the first step is Love)
- Then choose ( approve ) to do it.

If your love is into playing soccer, then surely, you will easily excel... Find something or someone  that you (will) Love.

4.KNOW AND DISCERN YOUR SKILL :

People differ when defining the term 'skill'. A skill could be learned or natural.
One thing that most most agree on is that 'skills' enables one to carry out specific tasks. Paul prayed in Phil. 1:9-10 for love in abundance, added by knowledge and discernment. Proverbs 22:29 mentions that the skilled person shall serve before Kings. I might sound a little different from psychologists, but I will define skills under the Bible Understanding as : ' an inner talent enabling one to do very well.'
Nobody was born without talents, that's what the parable of the talents teaches us, therefore we all have something natural we were born with. The fourth principle can be summed as follow:

a) Discern who you are: 'What are your natural inclinations, your praise worthy passions. Let the Holy Ghost reveal it to you '

b) Be original without fear of rejection: ' as an example, my blog differs from many other christian blogs. Truth is : 'in the Body of Christ, there are several parts. You must play your body part.Stop trying to be somebody else.' If people don't want to walk with you, they were just not meant to be with you. Be glad about it. It's Ok to be different as long as you are functioning in Christ.

c)Add some knowledge on top of it:' going to college, learner ship, reading books and magazines, learning wisdom, get advice...

d) Again: Fear God, it will boost you willingness to do things.
