'A prophet of God is a man/woman who carries the mandate of being a spokesman/spokeswoman for God. In the Bible, the Prophecy is labelled as a gift of authority in the church.'
Back in the old Testament, Prophets used to occupy center stage in the political life of Israel. They were considered sent by God and consulted by ordinary Israelite and Kings. Prophets were very instrumental in the political prosperity and stability of Israel, this explains why the Kings who chose to listen were successful but those who chose to ignore their prophecies were unsuccessful. Like the old Testament records, most Prophets were gifted with supernatural powers used to certify their Godly mandate.

The answer is very simple. Prophets are vessels of God on Earth, and the Bible mainly records two ways that Prophets were releasing God's manifestations: ' By being sent to a specific person or by being consulted by a specific person.'
It's either they would come to someone or the specific 'someone' would consult them.
To be honest with you, I like both ways but I prefer the second one.
Jesus went to John the Baptist, many sick and lost people went to Jesus to seek relief, several Kings moved from their palaces to consult the Prophets...
They acted that way because they knew that real Prophetic ministry is associated with power to remove diseases, power to remove blocks of life, power to bring repentance, power to provide...

Moses acted as a bridge to connect God and the slave Israelite who had long forgotten the God of Abraham.
Prophecies are various ,depending on the individual to whom God speak to, but they all have one ultimate purpose: 'To connect or re-connect human and God'.
In the midst of the connection, praise of Glory will come out to God.
How do you know a False prophet?
A false prophet will not bother to connect or re-connect you to to God. A false Prophet speak on his/her name and always attempt to steal all the glory for Himself/herself.
A false prophet utters fake prophecies (that's a no brainer). And finally, a false prophet lacks compassion or love.
Love is a crucial element that should be seen in every Prophet, because the prophet's mission is to reconnect men and God. There will be times where the Prophet will issue messages of wrath, but the goal is not punishment, on the contrary, the main goal is to influence people to turn their hearts to God.

1. The Psychic is not connected to God. Psychic work with demonic spirits.
2 The Psychic will never work at reconnecting you to God. He/she is more likely to connect you with the satanic realm.
3.Even though a Psychic can know certain things, he/she can not change the course of time. But the Prophets of God can change the course of time.

In the same way, that men and women, Kings and generals came to the Prophets. In the same way that people traveled miles to receive a touch from Jesus, you too can make a move to a true Prophet and receive God supernatural power to speed your life up, release from you from bondage and fill your heart .
From the moment you enter supernatural connection with God, nothing can stop you.
If you know a true Prophet, and you need some speed in your life; 'go and request a session with that prophet'. Don't sit and complain about how tough and unfair life is, move to the Prophets and request your prayer.
Your life will not be the same. If it requires you to travel miles, just do it. God rewards active Faith.
