Lessons of consistency from José Mourinho

Going 'Big' all the way is not always the best recipe for achievement. Most advisers ( financial, christian, counselors, etc...) often advice us to make progress at 'big scale'. It can be a good advice, but on the other side, going 'big' can prove very difficult.

When willing to make progress, most people want to go big all the way. That's the reason why failure is high.

Let's change our mindsets:

There is nothing wrong with ' small steps'.

The English soccer premier league is currently led by the Chelsea club. When Chelsea started the league under the talented José Mourinho this season , most people criticized them for winning their games with a small goal margins ( 1-0 type of victory). People were demanding a more attractive football, more goals, more thrills in their play, they wanted BIG stuff from them.

On the contrary, José Mourinho never promoted the 'BIG' style mentality. His tactic was to win through small steps. And he kept consistently on doing the same thing in every single game.

What was the result?

He's currently the league leader. The season is not finished yet. I don't know how they will end the season, but there are two things we can learn from the Chelsea club:

'Progress small and be consistent.'

If every day you take a small step consistently towards your goal, you will end up achieving to the size of a tower.

The problem with people is that when they have a dream or a project, they want to make it happen instantly. They undertake drastic and major steps difficult to handle and wonder why they fail.

They fail to save money, because they want to save more than they can.
They fail to start relationships, because they want to burn the bridges
They fail in whatever they undertake because small steps are neglected. They keep an eye on the Big thing.

As of today, let's change our thinking: 'There is nothing wrong with small steps.'

Consistency is a repetitive habit. Never stop doing good.

Small steps accompanied by consistency will build a tower.
